I Am the Art
"I Am the Art" is an interdisciplinary exhibition featuring painting, sculpture, installation, journal pages, and original music that explore the authenticity and lived experience of Mack. The work invites viewers into acts of personal release, reflection, and connection. Step into "The Living Room" and take a seat, leave an affirmation on the bathroom mirror, or contribute a meaningful object to the evolving, community-built sculpture.
This intimate exploration of one individual’s life reflects the vastness and complexity of the human experience we all share.
The project was presented at Freestyle Creative in St. Louis, Missouri, from June 5 to July 18, 2026, and featured a live visual and musical performance by Mack during the opening reception.

Notes From the Living Room

To journey inward far enough to discover your truest Self. And to be brave enough to show that part of yourself to the world. This is what it means to be seen. But where does that journey begin? I’ve often struggled to define myself within a single medium, and the feelings of anxiety surrounding my self-identity deepened after losing my mother to cancer in the Fall of 2024. I suddenly felt this huge pressure to figure out my purpose, with time suddenly seeming more precious than it had before. This led me to retreat inward. In the midst of grief and self-reflection, creating became both a lifeline and a way to better understand my own path, with journals, paintings, and sculptures serving as meditative forms of expression. “I Am the Art” is both a deeply personal reclamation of space and an invitation for others to see themselves reflected in the work. It’s about being real, being seen, and inspiring others to take up space unapologetically. From the ways we connect to each other to who we are when we’re totally alone – we are the art.
